Lest We Forget - A Tribute to Our Anzacs
Developer Rockingham Park Pty Ltd was heartened by the popular and successful “Billabong Seat” community art project at its Harrington Waters Private Estate earlier this year.
In response to the request of residents to continue school holiday activities, young people were invited to participate in a colouring-in competition with an ANZAC theme.
Winner ($25 gift voucher) and Runner-up ($15 gift voucher) prizes were provided in 3 categories; up to 6 year old, 7 to 10 year old and over 11. Participants could either complete their artwork at home or take advantage of the space within the land sales and information centre, where ANZAC biscuits and vegemite sandwiches were provided as refreshments.
Over 30 entries were received, with Harrington Waters’s resident Bill Fussell and his wife, Eveline, forming the judging panel. Bill, a retired Navy Captain, said the standard of entries was high, which made judging difficult. “It was a pity we couldn’t award prizes to everyone. What the younger ones lacked in skill, they certainly made up for with enthusiasm”.

Tina Morrison summed up her family’s feelings about community activities as follows:-
Hi Paul,
Thank you so much for the photo's of the girl's. Ashleigh was so excited when she found out she's won. Also thank you for holding the colouring in competition. It's so nice that these things are held and it really makes us feel like part of a close community. There are not many communities around that still do this sort of thing so we think it's great that ours does.
Thank you again
