THE STARS CAME OUT AT WAIKIKI!

Harrington Waters Partnership was once again the major sponsor of the Waikiki Residents’ Association’s second Talent Quest, held on Friday 22nd September 2006.

Harrington Waters provided attractive prize money for all categories of performers and underwrote operational expenses, while other corporate and private sponsors contributed to the success on the evening.

What a fantastic event this turned out to be! MLA Mark McGowan took time out from his hectic schedule to attend the quest and present the prizes. The many door prize draws ensured everyone ended up winning on the evening. There was even a prize on offer for those parents brave enough to come up on stage and show their talents.

Mark McGowan was thoroughly impressed by the talent on display and summed up the community feeling in the following comments:-

“It was an excellent evening that showcased the exceptional talent of local young people and their ability to perform under pressure. I was very impressed and had an enjoyable time. Congratulations to the Waikiki Residents’ Association on its organisational skills and for coordinating such an excellent event.”

Over 200 people attended the talent quest and were treated to a variety of performances, none more memorable than the winner of the 5 to 11 year old category, Jo Barrett, who also collected the Hon Kim Beazley award for overall excellence.
