Easter - 9th April 2006

The Waikiki Residents’ Association Inc. decided to beat the pressures of the holiday weekend and hold an early Easter egg hunt and bike competition around the Harrington Waters Lake on Sunday 9th April 2006.

Despite a short local advertising campaign, up to 100 people still joined in this family occasion. The traditional egg hunt was thoroughly enjoyed by young and old. There was plenty of chocolate on offer and prizes galore for the best decorated bikes. The bike decorations were a credit to the ingenuity of the children and their parents.

Chairperson, Rob Dedman, commended the children for their excellent behaviour and vowed to hold a much bigger event next year. He thanked the sponsors, Harrington Waters Partnership, for their continued support to the Waikiki community and to this event in particular.
